This role contributes to the evolution of system software across platforms such as automotive, robotics, and data centers. You will drive architectural decisions in OS kernel subsystems, scheduling, memory management, power/performance optimization, and I/O frameworks. Collaboration is key across hardware, software, and research teams to design features for next-generation NVIDIA products.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to enhance Linux for autonomous machines in safety-critical environments
- Analyze and optimize product performance for customer needs
- Collaborate with internal teams and upstream community for open source packages
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6+ years of relevant software development experience
- Expert knowledge in system software design and operating system fundamentals
- Deep understanding of computer architecture and microprocessor concepts (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA)
- Proven leadership skills in complex software and hardware environments
- Excellent communication skills with track record of building consensus
- Exceptional C programming and low-level driver experience
- Kernel development experience with Linux, Android, Chrome, or Windows systems
Ways to Stand Out
- Maintainer or significant contributor to large open source projects
- In-depth knowledge of system-level security
- Experience with virtualization platforms (Xen, KVM, Hyper-V)
- Experience with embedded system software concepts like RTOS and overlay programming models
Benefits
