Airbnb is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Partnerships Manager, Host Payouts to drive the vision, execution, and ongoing performance of our partner network supporting how we pay out to our global host community across 200+ markets. Reporting to the Director of Payment Partnerships, this role is pivotal in managing the partnerships that ensure our hosts are paid reliably, efficiently, compliantly and in alignment with our growth and platform goals.

You will lead business development, deal negotiation, and strategic relationship management for a portfolio of high-value payment partners. With a focus on impact and long-term alignment, you'll help craft our partner landscape, structure and renegotiate commercial agreements, and serve as a critical voice in expanding and optimizing how payments to hosts are enabled around the world.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve payout partner strategy in collaboration with Payments, Product, Compliance and Finance to ensure coverage, performance, and alignment with Airbnb’s goals.
- Identify partners in each market, structure new deals, and renegotiate existing relationships to optimize cost, reliability, reach, and innovation.
- Drive global deal execution for payouts—develop commercial structures, navigate regional regulatory constraints, and shape contracts to meet Airbnb’s needs.
- Own and cultivate high-impact relationships with financial institutions, payment processors, banks, and other partners; manage executive-level engagement to ensure Airbnb is a priority client.
- Monitor partner performance, identify gaps or opportunities, and lead cross-functional efforts to address issues or evolve terms.
- Lead strategic business reviews and act as escalation point for performance or operational misalignment.
- Assist in scaling Airbnb’s payout infrastructure—ensuring partner decisions reflect regional needs, market conditions, cost structures, and regulatory environments.
- Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Treasury, Risk, Product, Engineering, and Global Operations to align execution with global strategy.
- Stay ahead of industry and macroeconomic changes affecting international payments and proactively recommend opportunities and risk mitigations.
Requirements / Your Expertise
- 10+ years of experience in the payments or fintech industry, with at least 8 years in strategic partnerships, business development, or enterprise account management.
- Demonstrated success owning commercial negotiations and managing multi-million dollar partnerships that balance customer experience, innovation, and financial return.
- Deep knowledge of global payment methods, financial products, and cross-border payout solutions.
- Understanding of payments cost structure (e.g., interchange, chargebacks, FX, treasury flow) and experience optimizing it through partner levers.
- Experience resolving partner conflicts or escalations, ideally across multiple markets or regulatory contexts.
- Strong storytelling and analytical skills; ability to use data to advocate for business needs and influence stakeholders.
- Proven success working in highly matrixed environments and bringing diverse stakeholders together.
- A passion for inclusive, innovative environments that foster collaboration and high performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- International payments experience, especially in marketplace or platform models.
- Experience in platform organizations advising internal stakeholders on partner enablement strategy.
- Experience working with regulators or regulated partners in cross-border payout environments.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
Location & Work Eligibility
This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager. You must live in a U.S. state where Airbnb Payments, Inc. is a registered entity. Approved remote states include: Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington. This list may evolve; check with the recruiter for eligibility if your state is excluded.
Compensation
Base pay range: $188,000—$235,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits. The actual base pay depends on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
