We're looking for a Senior Performance Engineer who shares our vision for transforming healthcare. As part of our team, you'll work alongside researchers, developers, and experts in the field to tackle some of the most challenging and impactful problems of our time.
Responsibilities
- Optimize the computational performance of the latest innovations in AI that address specific, domain-relevant bottlenecks.
- Design and implement computationally performant features for large-scale, CUDA-backed ML training and inference frameworks, and data science tooling.
- Develop and maintain an HPC software stack for generative machine learning models in digital biology and beyond.
- Collaborate with multiple HPC, AI infrastructure, and research teams.
- Drive the testing and maintenance of the algorithms and software modules.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven track record in performance engineering as well as software design, building and packaging, and launching software products.
- Deep understanding of parallel programming in C++ and Python; CUDA programming experience required.
- Proficiency in modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, and Warp.
- Experience developing and maintaining HPC stacks for ML workloads, including training and inference at scale.
- Strong collaboration skills to work closely with researchers and multiple engineering teams.
- Willingness and ability to learn from and teach others to keep up with the latest developments and tools in the field.
Preferred / Ways to stand out
- Interest and experience in the drug discovery domain.
- Track record of code contributions that accelerate AI/ML bottlenecks.
- Experience working with cutting-edge methods in AI and generative models.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary ranges (dependent on location, experience, and level):
- Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
- Level 5: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD
- You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
