Become a key member of Collibra's Platform Infrastructure Engineering team, reporting to the Senior Platform Infrastructure Engineering Manager. This team builds and operates the essential cloud foundation for all Collibra services. In this role you will help evolve a multi-cloud, Kubernetes, IaC (Terraform/Helm), Golang automation, and GitOps infrastructure environment for maximum efficiency and resilience. The role emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Developer enablement: develop controllers and automations; work with development teams to refine platform capabilities.
  • Platform contribution: contribute to overall architecture of the platform infrastructure, collaborating with other infrastructure engineers using GitOps, IaC and Kubernetes.
  • Operational excellence: participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot complex service issues, implement security best practices, and maintain clear documentation (architecture, procedures).
  • Continuous improvement: keep current with platform engineering trends and infrastructure automation, identify and implement improvements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, SRE, or infrastructure-focused roles, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, OR equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and managing production services using Kubernetes and GitOps/IaC at a scale of tens to hundreds of Kubernetes clusters.
  • Experience managing production workloads and infrastructure on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters and managing containerized services in production.
  • Demonstrable experience writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably with Terraform.
  • Proficiency in Golang or Python for automation.
  • Preferred: CKA/CKAD, Istio, ArgoCD, deep experience with networks, Linux and Kubernetes, experience with monitoring/logging and observability (spans/traces), and proficiency in creating controllers and automation patterns to manage Kubernetes resources.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship.
  • Because this role supports the US government, the candidate must be a US citizen who resides on US soil.

You are

  • Experienced at systematic troubleshooting and critical thinking to diagnose root causes within distributed cloud infrastructure and propose effective solutions.
  • Proactive in learning and utilizing evolving technologies related to cloud platforms, container orchestration, GitOps, IaC and automation.
  • An effective communicator, able to articulate complex technical details, designs, and trade-offs to technical peers and other stakeholders.
  • Minded toward efficiency, seeking and evaluating ways to automate manual processes and improve system reliability.
  • Able to independently manage and complete assigned work, ensuring deliverables meet defined requirements and acceptance criteria.

Measures of success

  • Within the first month: gain exposure to the technical environment and meet partnering teams.
  • Within three months: independently execute assigned tasks accurately and demonstrate understanding of core platform technologies (Cloud, Kubernetes, IaC, GitOps) and team workflows.
  • Within six months: participate in key automation initiatives and deliver reliable mid-complexity infrastructure improvements, reducing complexity through refactoring existing automations.

Compensation

  • The standard base salary range for this position is 152,000 - 190,000 per year.
  • This position is not eligible for additional commission-based compensation.
  • Salary offers are based on experience, skills, and location. In addition to base salary, Collibra offers equity ownership at every level, bonus potential, a Flex Fund monthly stipend, pension/401(k) plans, and more.
