Become a key member of Collibra's Platform Infrastructure Engineering team, reporting to the Senior Platform Infrastructure Engineering Manager. This team builds and operates the essential cloud foundation for all Collibra services. In this role you will help evolve a multi-cloud, Kubernetes, IaC (Terraform/Helm), Golang automation, and GitOps infrastructure environment for maximum efficiency and resilience. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Developer enablement: develop controllers and automations, and collaborate with development teams on refinements to platform capabilities.
- Platform contribution: contribute to the overall architecture of the platform infrastructure, collaborating with other infrastructure engineers using GitOps, IaC and Kubernetes.
- Operational excellence: participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot complex service issues, implement security best practices, and maintain clear documentation (architecture, procedures).
- Continuous improvement: stay current with platform engineering trends and infrastructure automation, identifying and implementing improvements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, SRE, or infrastructure-focused roles, plus a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, OR equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience designing, building, and managing production services using Kubernetes and GitOps / IaC at a scale of tens to hundreds of Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience managing production workloads and infrastructure on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters and managing containerized services in production.
- Demonstrable experience writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably with Terraform, and proficiency in Golang or Python for automation.
- Preferred: CKA / CKAD, Istio, ArgoCD, deep experience with networks, Linux and Kubernetes, experience with monitoring/logging tools and observability (spans/traces) such as Datadog, Grafana, Honeycomb, and proficiency creating controllers and other automation patterns to manage Kubernetes resources.
- Must be eligible to work in the USA without requiring sponsorship.
- Because this role supports the US government, candidates must be US citizens who reside on US soil.
Measures of Success
- Within the first month: gain exposure to the technical environment and meet partner teams.
- Within three months: independently execute assigned tasks, demonstrating understanding of core platform technologies (Cloud, K8s, IaC, GitOps) and team workflows.
- Within six months: participate in key automation initiatives and deliver reliable mid-complexity infrastructure improvements, reducing complexity through refactoring existing automations.
Compensation
- The standard base salary range for this position is 152,000 - 190,000 per year.
- This position is not eligible for additional commission-based compensation. Salary offers are based on experience, skills, and location.
- In addition to base salary, Collibra offers equity ownership, bonus potential, a Flex Fund monthly stipend, pension/401(k) plans, and more.
Benefits
Collibra offers a flexible benefits program built on competitive compensation, health coverage, and time off. The company emphasizes inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunity and provides accommodation support for applicants as needed.
