Sentry is on a mission to help developers write better software faster by building performance and error monitoring tools used by organizations like Disney, Microsoft, and Atlassian. This role is a highly technical, developer-focused Senior Product Designer position. It requires deep domain knowledge of developer workflows and the ability to collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to create product experiences that help developers ship higher-quality, more performant apps.
Responsibilities
- Design core improvements to major, high-impact parts of Sentry's product.
- Collaborate closely with a tight-knit group of product designers, meeting weekly to share work and feedback.
- Contribute to the component library and design documentation.
- Define systems to help design and frontend teams work more efficiently and collaboratively.
- Maximize signal and limit noise to help developers be more efficient across the globe.
- Create and maintain a consistent look and feel across products.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience or a portfolio demonstrating equivalent expertise (a link to a portfolio or relevant work is required).
- Frontend experience with HTML/CSS and an understanding of web design principles.
- Strong visual design skills and attention to detail.
- Experience conducting user interviews and interpreting findings.
- Expert with Figma or other modern design tools.
- Ability to simplify complex workflows into intuitive experiences.
- Deep understanding of developer workflows and the frustrations developers face.
- Experience designing and building tools as part of a small team.
Bonus / Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like React or templating engines.
- Active GitHub profile and/or open-source contributions.
- Experience with SVG, especially for data visualization.
- Experience using version control (e.g., Git).
Benefits & Compensation
- Base salary range: $140,000 CAD to $180,000 CAD (final compensation depends on location, skills, experience, and role alignment).
- Eligibility for incentive compensation, equity, paid time off, and benefits including group health insurance.
Work Model & Location Notes
- Sentry embraces a hybrid work model with in-office anchor days (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays).
