Senior Product Designer - Developer Platform

The team builds APIs, SDKs, and other developer tools across crypto payments, trading, wallets, onchain data, AI/ML, and more. This role is part of a small, fast-moving team that operates like a startup within Coinbase.

While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, the company is not remote-only — in-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually; attendance is expected and supported.

Responsibilities

• Work in a small team to iteratively improve developer experience.
• Take new features from ideation to prototyping, user testing, and production.
• Design web and mobile experiences that are simple and intuitive.
• Participate in regular design reviews, seek and incorporate feedback.
• Execute on the product roadmap and help define product strategy.
• Collaborate daily with Engineering, User Research, and Product.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Product Design experience.
• Experience designing developer experiences for web and mobile.
• Excellence in UX thinking, visual design, and written communication.
• Experience working collaboratively with engineers, user researchers, and product teams.
• Fluency in Figma and prototyping tools, including effective use of AI in product design.
• Low ego, collaborative, and open-minded.
• Demonstrated interest in crypto products (e.g., active user of DeFi apps, wallets, exchanges).

Nice to have

• Prior design experience in crypto or financial products.
• Software development experience.
• Startup experience.

• Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual salary for this position is listed below. Full-time offers also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision).
• Pay Range: $191,100 — $191,100 CAD.

• Answers to crypto-related questions may be used to evaluate onchain experience.
• Coinbase is piloting AI tools for initial screening interviews and an AI interview intelligence platform for transcription/summarization; human recruiters will review interview responses. Coinbase will not use AI to make employment decisions.
