NVIDIA is seeking a Senior QA Software Test Engineer to join the NVIDIA-Cumulus system Ethernet group. The role focuses on testing NVIDIA-Mellanox Spectrum series Ethernet Switch/Router systems running NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux and contributes to AI & Spectrum-X solution testing. The position involves requirements and design reviews, development of test plans, test execution, and automated test development for features of Cumulus Linux.

Responsibilities

  • Functional and system testing of various Layer 2 and Layer 3 features of NVIDIA-Mellanox Spectrum series Ethernet switch systems running NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux.
  • Writing detailed feature and system test plans; defining and designing test beds and topologies.
  • Identifying and reporting issues into the defect tracking system and validating fixes and workarounds.
  • Developing automated test suites for different features of NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux.
  • Building and maintaining automation required to ensure quality via continuous functional regression.
  • Collaborating with design, test and other internal engineering groups to identify, report and resolve issues.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of demonstrable experience in software quality engineering.
  • Strong skills in Python or other scripting languages (required).
  • Strong technical abilities in problem solving, designing, coding and debugging.
  • Hands-on experience with L2 and L3 protocols such as MLAG, VLAN, STP, OSPF, BGP, EVPN.
  • Experience using test tools from Ixia or Spirent and working experience in test management.
  • Proficiency with tools like HP ALM.
  • Good experience working on Unix or Linux-based operating systems.
  • Solid foundation in and understanding of software engineering practices.
  • Teamwork, multitasking ability and good interpersonal skills.

Ways to stand out / Preferred

  • Experience with bring up and troubleshooting of Ethernet interfaces and modules.
  • Knowledge in performance testing and solving performance issues.
  • Experience with CI methodology & tools (Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, etc.).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranges (determined by location, experience, and level):
    • Level 3: 136,000 USD - 212,750 USD
    • Level 4: 168,000 USD - 264,500 USD
  • Eligible for equity and company benefits.
