Nestled within Airbnb's Infrastructure Org, the Quality team is a team of ~150, spread across the globe in the USA, Canada, Brazil, Ireland, India, China and more. Through professional Software Quality Assurance expertise, we ensure the quality of the Airbnb software and support nearly every one of Airbnb's business teams. The team partners with business stakeholders to deliver the best experience to the community.
The Difference You Will Make
As a Senior QE Lead, you are responsible for ensuring software product quality through the design, execution, and documentation of manual and automated tests within the QE organization. You will work cross-functionally to improve the quality of Airbnb software, with clear communication, efficient program planning, and strong project execution. You will help ensure Airbnb delivers high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute the QE team's priorities and be accountable for delivery.
- Define, launch, and execute multiple strategic and operational initiatives in partnership with QE leadership.
- Ensure quality is represented during project planning, development, and launches across projects.
- Drive adoption of automated testing as a strategic lever for efficient and effective testing.
- Communicate program status and progress to project stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Manage change by influencing and communicating with key stakeholders; anticipate risks and provide mitigations.
- Collaborate with Product teams to identify opportunities and advocate for product improvements or tools that support strategy and customer needs.
- Quickly become well-versed in the engineering team's product/domain space.
- Coordinate and collaborate with 3rd party vendors and QE counterparts.
- Regularly assess project risks and opportunities; leverage best practices and drive process improvements.
Requirements / Your Expertise
- 10+ years of software quality assurance experience with a proven track record of quality delivery.
- Experience partnering with Quality Engineering teams to advance test automation.
- Strong people leadership skills, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
- Proactive communication and interpersonal skills; strong stakeholder management.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing ambiguity.
- Ability to anticipate risks & issues and proactively mitigate them.
- Experience using collaborative project management tools and processes (e.g. JIRA, Asana, Smartsheets, Google Docs, scrum, agile).
- Passion for building and delivering high quality software.
Location
This position is US ā Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
Compensation
Base pay range: $132,000ā$154,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
