Details

NVIDIA is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to improve the data ingestion platform within the Autonomous Vehicles (AV) division. The team enables NVIDIA and customers to ingest vast amounts of sensor data from AVs and make it available to downstream teams for AV development. The role focuses on building, scaling, monitoring, and validating high-throughput distributed data pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance and scale data ingestion pipelines to ensure a continuous and reliable flow of AV data into the system.
  • Monitor data pipelines and services to ensure data availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data processing efficiency, reduce latency, and enhance overall system performance.
  • Implement validation and data quality checks to ensure the integrity and accuracy of ingested data.
  • Work closely with AV development teams to understand data requirements and contribute to data-driven solutions.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of professional experience working with data ingestion pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Golang and gRPC.
  • Strong experience with distributed systems and designing resilient, fault-tolerant services that handle petabyte-scale data.
  • Experience with monitoring and tracing for observability.
  • Hands-on experience with Temporal workflows.
  • Strong understanding of computer science principles and data science concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-team initiatives and improve engineering efficiency through tooling or automation.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills.

Ways to Stand Out

  • Hands-on experience with large-scale data ingestion systems, particularly in autonomous vehicle or other high-throughput environments.
  • Strong contributions to open-source projects in Golang, Temporal, or related distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, anomaly detection, or advanced monitoring/observability techniques.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranges by level:
    • Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
    • Level 5: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD
  • Eligible for equity and a comprehensive benefits package (see NVIDIA benefits page).

Additional Information

  • Location: Santa Clara, CA, United States.
  • Employment type: Full time.
  • Applications accepted at least until September 14, 2025.
  • NVIDIA is an equal opportunity employer and fosters a diverse work environment.
