Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, in-person participation is required throughout the year with multiple team and company-wide offsites.

Responsibilities

• Build new services to meet critical product and business needs using Golang.
• Design scalable systems using modern cloud technology and industry best practices.
• Articulate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems and running teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn product and technical vision into a tangible quarterly roadmap.
• Write high quality, well tested code to meet customer needs.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services with service-oriented architecture.
• Passionate about building an open financial system.

Nice to haves

• Experience with rapid growth companies (startup to mid-size).
• Experience with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks.
• Experience with blockchain technology such as Bitcoin or Ethereum.
• Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices.
• Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
• Experience building financial, high reliability, or security systems.
• Crypto-forward experience with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, or blockchain-based services.
