This role is on the Stablecoin team, responsible for building platforms and infrastructure for stablecoin issuance, growth, and utility. The team builds systems such as a Rewards Orchestration System that offers rewards to retail and institutional customers across multiple Coinbase product surfaces (Retail, Exchange, Prime, Custody, Neptune).

Responsibilities

• Develop new services to meet critical product and business needs using industry best practices.
• Architect and design scalable systems to solve novel problems.
• Define a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems and teams.
• Serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for your projects and as a technical lead/subject matter expert.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn vision into a quarterly roadmap.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.
• Contribute to platform and infrastructure for stablecoin issuance, including delivering immediate projects such as issuing Canadian and Singaporean stablecoins and deploying stablecoins on additional chains across Retail, Exchange, Prime, and Custody.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services; knowledge of service-oriented architecture.
• Proficiency in writing high-quality, well-tested code.
• Leadership skills and experience mentoring or developing other engineers.
• Passion for building an open financial system and familiarity with crypto/blockchain concepts (onchain platform context).

• Experience in rapid company growth (startup → mid-size).
• Familiarity with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks.
• Experience with blockchain technology (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum) and onchain activity (interacting with addresses, ENS, dApps).

• Proficiency with: Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB.
• Experience building financial, high-reliability, or security systems.

Work Format

• Coinbase is remote-first but not remote-only; in-person participation is required throughout the year (team and company-wide offsites held multiple times annually). Attendance is expected and supported.

Pay Range & Compensation

• Target annual salary: $191,000 CAD (range listed: $191,000—$191,000 CAD).
• Full-time offers also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision).
