We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Stablecoin team, which is responsible for building platforms and infrastructure for stablecoin issuance, growth, and utility.

The team plays a crucial role in enhancing the stablecoin ecosystem at Coinbase, including developing a Rewards Orchestration System for rewards to retail and institutional customers across various Coinbase product surfaces such as Retail, Exchange, Prime, Custody, and Neptune. The team has seven members with multiple levels and three open headcounts, working closely with sister teams focused on Stablecoins UX and international stablecoin additions.

Responsibilities

• Develop new services to meet critical product and business needs using industry best practices.
• Architect and design scalable systems to solve novel problems.
• Define a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems and teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to create quarterly roadmaps.
• Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services with knowledge of service-oriented architecture.
• Proficiency in writing high-quality, well-tested code.
• Passion for building an open financial system.
• Leadership skills to develop other engineers.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with rapid company growth (startup to mid-size).
• Familiarity with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks.
• Experience with blockchain technology (Bitcoin, Ethereum).
• Experience decomposing large monoliths into microservices.
• Proficiency in Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
• Experience with financial, high-reliability, or security systems.
• Crypto-forward experience including onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, and dApps.

Additional Information

• This is a remote-first role but not remote-only; in-person participation required periodically.
• Target annual salary range: $186,005 to $218,900 USD plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
