Senior Software Engineer, Backend - DevX CI

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. Developer Experience (DevX) provides infrastructure, libraries, frameworks, and tooling to make it faster and easier for engineers at Coinbase to build high-quality products. The CI pod builds and operates version control and continuous integration infrastructure, manages a large Kubernetes cluster, and runs a custom controller to manage workloads efficiently. The team is also migrating source code into the cloud.

Responsibilities

• Build, improve, and operate backend developer productivity infrastructure services and systems.
• Design scalable, fault-tolerant solutions using modern cloud technologies and industry best practices.
• Turn product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap with engineering leadership on a quarterly cadence.
• Provide stellar customer support to internal engineers.
• Operate and scale high-throughput infrastructure (including Kubernetes clusters and custom controllers).

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and operating large-scale, high-throughput infrastructure.
• Strong problem solving skills: identify problems, determine root causes, and drive solutions to completion.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and container orchestration at scale.

• Pay Range: $186,065—$218,900 USD (target annual salary; offers also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits).
