Role overview

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Crypto Data Foundation - Core team. The team has built the fundamental Web3 infrastructure data layer and delivers an open-source suite of data availability solutions (ChainStack) designed to ingest, index, and parse vast amounts of crypto data with minimal latency.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical structure to teams and work closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using technical expertise
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards
• Design and implement foundational infrastructure components used by every engineering team in production (examples: dynamic configuration, secrets storage, container orchestration)
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering
• Very strong in distributed systems or data systems (experience with crypto is a big plus)
• Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
• Passion for building an indexing platform that bridges Web3 and Web2

Nice to haves / additional experience:

• Experience designing and developing distributed systems
• Experience scaling through rapid company growth (e.g., from 10 to 100s of engineers)
• Experience with blockchains (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.)
• Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices
• Experience with Golang, Kafka, Redis, S3, ClickHouse, MongoDB
• Experience building financial, high-reliability, or security-critical systems
• Crypto-forward experience (familiarity with onchain activity, interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps)

Compensation and benefits

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).

Pay Range: $180,625 — $212,000 USD
