NVIDIA is developing groundbreaking solutions in Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and Autonomous Vehicles. Join the Behavior Planning team to build behavioral and motion planning algorithms for autonomous vehicles, addressing challenges from comfort to safety and complex traffic rules.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust, safety-critical algorithms for behavior and motion planning on highways and urban roads.
  • Address problems in redundant actuation, degraded operation, and fail-safe control.
  • Architect and develop new behavior planning features from concept to deployment.
  • Test and validate functionalities in simulation and real-world scenarios.
  • Build an autonomous system with coordinated safety across varied regions, sensor setups, maps, and environmental conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including perception, mapping, vehicle control, and user experience.

Requirements

  • BS or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of proven experience in robotics or similar domain.
  • Proven applied robotics experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++.
  • Familiarity with Python.
  • Comfortable developing in Linux or Unix-based systems.
  • Outstanding analytical skills for compute-constrained systems.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Ways to Stand Out

  • 2+ years of AV software development and production-ready code deployment.
  • PhD or related research experience.
  • Expert-level understanding of planning algorithms and/or strong controls background.
  • Knowledge of CUDA.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 356,500 USD, dependent on location and experience. Eligibility for equity and other benefits is included.
