The Consumer Eng Test Infrastructure (CETI) team focuses on elevating product quality across Coinbase by building world-class testing tools and frameworks. The team equips engineering teams with scalable testing infrastructure tightly integrated into CI/CD pipelines to make writing, running, and maintaining high-quality tests seamless.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, fast, and scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and infrastructure.
• Partner with engineering teams to enhance test coverage, reduce test flakiness, and streamline the debugging experience.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and rapid test execution.
• Advocate for and drive adoption of testing best practices across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing while maintaining development velocity.
• Build comprehensive observability dashboards and provide insights that empower teams to track and improve test quality.
• Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, CX, consumer, and SRE teams to ensure test environments are stable, scalable, and reflect production conditions.
• Research and evaluate emerging testing technologies (web, mobile, AI/ML, backend) and integrate them where appropriate.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering foundation with experience in languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or similar.
• Familiarity with infrastructure technologies and tooling such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience building scalable developer tools and improving developer productivity and experience.
• Experience with observability, debugging, and profiling techniques to improve reliability and performance.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence engineering culture across diverse teams.
• Note: answers to crypto-related questions may be used to evaluate onchain experience.

Location & Work Policy

• Remote-first role. Coinbase requires in-person participation throughout the year for team and company-wide offsites; attendance is expected and supported.

Compensation & Pay Transparency

• Pay Range: $186,065—$218,900 USD (target annual salary; offers may also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits).
