The mission of the Developer Experience org is to design, develop, and support tools and processes that make common developer workflows efficient and reliable. This role is specific to the Code Infrastructure team, which owns source control, code review, code search, build infrastructure, continuous integration, and a subset of related internal developer tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, scope, and execute high-leverage projects that accelerate development and help Reddit achieve its goals.
• Create a developer experience that reduces toil and provides faster and higher-quality feedback across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including source control, builds, testing, code review, code integration, and knowledge search.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Reddit Engineering to deliver integrated tooling and platform improvements.
• Instrument and evolve build and continuous integration tooling and help scale build infrastructure and code review experiences.
• Engage with engineering org members, gather feedback, and iterate on designs to improve developer efficiency and service reliability.
• Integrate novel technologies (for example, Generative AI) where appropriate to solve developer problems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience identifying, driving, and executing high-impact projects that align with company strategy.
• 3+ years of experience working in developer experience, infrastructure, or platform teams, and experience building developer tools, libraries, and frameworks.
• 3+ years of industry experience with large-scale distributed systems and building highly scalable, reliable systems.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Drone, BuildKite, GitHub Actions, Bazel, Argo Workflows/Rollouts/CD, Temporal, and adjacent tools.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud providers (AWS, GCP).
• Track record of leading technical projects that require cross-team and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to disambiguate complex problems, align stakeholders, prioritize, and execute effectively.
• Strong communication skills to drive consensus, navigate disagreements, influence decisions, and empower others.
• A strong sense of empathy, curiosity, and humility; desire to deeply understand developer pain points and continuously improve systems and user experience.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Go.
• Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, gRPC.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise Server.
• Experience with mobile client CI/CD challenges and tooling (Bitrise, MacStadium, Orka, Gradle).
• Experience designing and implementing platforms.
• Experience with multi-region, multi-provider deployments.

Pay Transparency

This job posting may span more than one career level. In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units and, depending on the position offered, may be eligible to receive a commission. Reddit offers a wide range of benefits to U.S.-based employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) program with employer match, generous time off, and parental leave.

The base pay range for this position is: $190,800 - $267,100 USD
