Senior Software Engineer, Frontend (Consumer - Growth)

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to join the Growth organization to build the next generation of crypto-forward consumer products. The role focuses on user-facing web experiences and growth-oriented features (referral and incentives programs, notifications, logged-out web experience, new user onboarding) operating at web scale and bridging constraints between web applications and blockchain technology. The team expects strong engineering craftsmanship, collaboration with product and design, and participation in occasional in-person events and offsites.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and ship user-facing features for growth-focused consumer experiences (referrals, incentives, notifications, logged-out web, onboarding).
• Build and maintain high-frequency, low-latency, real-time web applications that operate at scale.
• Solve complex technical problems at the intersection of frontend web scale and blockchain/onchain systems.
• Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers across the company.
• Write high-quality, well-tested, extensible code and contribute to frontend architecture and best practices.
• Participate in team and company-wide offsites and in-person collaboration as required.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience developing web and/or mobile applications and shipping user-facing features with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Demonstrated experience leading and landing meaningful projects; considered a subject matter expert by teammates.
• Experience developing and shipping user-facing features using component-based UI frameworks.
• Familiarity with product and design lifecycles and effective cross-functional collaboration with designers and product managers.
• Strong emphasis on writing well-tested, extensible code and following frontend architecture best practices.
• Proactive growth mindset and ability to empower and cultivate teammates.

Nice to Have

• Experience launching new products from 0 to 1 at scale.
• Experience working on growth engineering or other high-availability financial systems.
• Answers to crypto-related questions may be used to evaluate onchain experience.

Work Model

• Remote-first but not remote-only: in-person participation is required throughout the year; team and company offsites are held multiple times annually and attendance is expected and supported.

Compensation

• Pay Range (target annual salary, depending on work location): $186,065 — $218,900 USD
• Full-time offers also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
