Many roles at Coinbase are remote-first but not remote-only; in-person participation is required throughout the year for team and company-wide offsites. The team culture is intense and collaborative; attendance to offsites and some in-person events is expected and supported.

Responsibilities

• Design secure and highly reliable services to integrate with blockchains and add new cryptocurrency assets to Coinbase products (Coinbase, Pro, Custody, and other business units).
• Build mass-market interfaces for digital currency apps by adding new functionality to existing cryptocurrencies (e.g., staking, voting, predicting).
• Write infrastructural services that provide secure storage, accounting, and transactional services to help customers transfer assets safely.
• Work with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn product vision into a tangible quarterly roadmap.
• Contribute positive energy to meetings and foster inclusive interactions with coworkers.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering and at least 4 years developing web apps and shipping user-facing features with JavaScript and modern component-based JS frameworks like React.
• Experience developing and shipping user-facing features using component-based UI frameworks.
• Familiarity with current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, security, and usability.
• Experience collaborating closely with designers and product managers through product and design lifecycles.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.

Nice to Haves

• Front-end experience in finance or security spaces.
• At least 1 year of experience developing React Native mobile apps or migrating native apps to React Native.
• Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity (interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services).
