Senior Software Engineer, Frontend (Consumer - New Product Vertical)

This role is in the Consumer Product Group as a founding engineer on a new team building and launching a new product offering (Coinbase for Business). The team and company culture is intense and expects high collaboration, feedback, and in-person participation throughout the year for team and company offsites.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of engineering for the new Coinbase for Business product
• Backend systems design and architecture for the new product offering
• Write code and build prototypes for the MVP and future vision (examples: international payments, payroll, invoices)
• Collaborate across Coinbase teams to launch supporting features: onboarding, multi-user, payment rails, tax, settings, commerce integrations, etc.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering
• At least 4 years of experience developing web apps and shipping user-facing features with JavaScript and modern component-based JS frameworks (e.g., React)
• Experience developing and shipping user-facing features using component-based UI frameworks
• Familiarity with current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, security, and usability
• Familiarity with product and design lifecycles and collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and product managers
• Strong emphasis on writing high-quality, well-tested code

Nice to haves

• Experience on front-end teams in the fintech space
• At least 1 year of experience developing React Native mobile apps or migrating native apps to React Native
• Crypto-forward experience: familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services

Pay & Benefits

• Pay Range: $186,095 — $218,900 USD (target annual salary; full-time offers also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits)
