Coinbase is looking for a Senior Software Engineer on the Mobile Developer Experience (DevX) team to help shape the future of mobile development at Coinbase. The team builds products and systems that enable Coinbase engineers to develop, build, test, and release high-quality mobile apps quickly and reliably. This role focuses on React Native and Expo, mobile infrastructure, developer tooling, and automation to improve developer experience and streamline app releases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mobile infrastructure using React Native, iOS, and Android technologies.
• Build and enhance developer tools that streamline the mobile development process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and improve app performance.
• Implement automation for app releases and ensure seamless over-the-air (OTA) updates.
• Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to foster continuous learning and improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with mobile development trends and drive innovation in the mobile ecosystem.

Requirements

• Expertise in React Native, or strong experience in either iOS or Android development with a willingness to learn React Native.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript (the team's tools are built in these languages).
• Experience or familiarity with Expo for React Native projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving developer experiences.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working on mobile infrastructure, release automation, CI/CD for mobile, and OTA updates is highly relevant.

Nice to haves

• Track record of contributing to high-quality, scalable mobile applications.
• Experience with mobile infrastructure and developer tooling.
• Familiarity with native languages such as Swift or Kotlin.
• Knowledge of cross-platform development practices and patterns.
• Previous experience in fintech or at a company known for mobile innovation.

Compensation

• Target annual pay range: $180,625 — $212,000 USD (full-time offers also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits).

• The role is remote-first but not remote-only; in-person participation (team/company offsites) is required throughout the year. The team culture is high-performing and expects active collaboration and continuous improvement.
