The Developer Experience (DevX) org at Coinbase builds products and systems that empower engineers to develop, build, test, and release high-quality code quickly and reliably. As a member of the Mobile DevX team you will shape the future of mobile development at Coinbase, working with React Native and Expo to craft tools that enhance the developer experience and streamline app releases for millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mobile infrastructure using React Native, iOS, and Android technologies.
• Build and enhance developer tools to streamline the mobile development process (including automation for app releases).
• Implement and maintain OTA (over-the-air) update workflows and related release automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and improve app performance.
• Participate in code reviews, provide mentorship, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with mobile development trends and introduce innovations that improve developer productivity and reliability.

Requirements

• Expertise in React Native, or strong experience in either iOS or Android development with a willingness to learn React Native.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript (tools are built in these languages).
• Experience with mobile infrastructure, developer tooling, and release automation.
• Familiarity with iOS and Android development practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving developer experiences.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Expo.
• Familiarity with Swift or Kotlin.
• Prior experience contributing to high-quality, scalable mobile applications.
• Knowledge of cross-platform development practices.
• Previous experience in fintech or a company known for mobile innovation.

Location & Work Model

• Remote-first role with in-person participation expected throughout the year for team and company offsites. (Role is labeled remote but requires periodic in-person participation.)

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range (target annual salary): $180,625 — $212,000 USD.
• Full-time offers may include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
