At Coinbase you will work on the Risk Platform team that builds flexible, scalable, and customizable engineering systems to detect and prevent fraud, supporting real-time, near-real-time, and scheduled workflows. The team builds web and mobile experiences that power Coinbase’s risk and fraud systems and enable safe business growth.

This role contributes to the next generation of crypto-forward products and features, helping make cryptocurrency accessible to everyone globally. While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, this position requires in-person participation throughout the year (team and company offsites are held multiple times annually). Job #: GPFE05US. Responsibilities

• Shape the next generation of Risk Platform architecture that powers Coinbase.
• Articulate long-term technical direction and vision for maintaining and scaling web and mobile platforms.
• Build trustworthy user experiences: simple, comprehensible, performant, and reliable interfaces using modern tools such as React, React Native, TypeScript, React Navigation, Jest, and Webpack.
• Turn vision into a tangible quarterly roadmap by collaborating with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership.
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards.
• Contribute positively to team culture and inclusive interactions in meetings and reviews.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, developing web apps and shipping user-facing features with JavaScript and modern, component-based frameworks (e.g., React).
• Experience developing and shipping user-facing features using component-based UI frameworks.
• Familiarity with current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance, security, and usability.
• Experience collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and product managers; familiarity with product and design lifecycles.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.

Nice to haves

• Experience on front-end teams in the finance or compliance space.
• At least 1 year of experience developing React Native mobile apps or migrating native apps to React Native.

Compensation

• Pay Range: $180,625 — $212,000 USD (target annual salary). Full-time offers may also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits.
