Details

NVIDIA is seeking an exceptional Senior System Software Engineer to join the GPU System Software team. The team develops system software solutions from concept to production and owns the lifecycle of GPU feature development including proof-of-concept, design, architecture, algorithm implementation, and pre/post-silicon optimization. The primary focus for this role is display features using hardware and software architectures to deliver energy-efficient consumer products.

Responsibilities

  • Define, proof-of-concept (POC), design, and develop display features based on VESA DisplayPort standards (e.g., DP 2.1), HDMI, and eDP.
  • Drive and resolve complex optimization strategies independently across multiple teams and technical disciplines.
  • Influence next-generation GPU/SoC and platform architecture by creating internal architecture and design specifications.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with local and remote teams and drive interaction with OEM/ODM partners.
  • Work closely with hardware designers and other driver engineers to create new features and solutions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of industry experience in system software or a related field.
  • B.S. or higher degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in C.
  • Solid background in operating system internals, device drivers, real-time embedded operating systems, kernel modules, algorithms, and data structures.
  • In-depth knowledge of low-level display pipeline fundamentals including VESA/DisplayPort, HDMI, eDP, PSR, and FreeSync.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with hardware designers and cross-functional engineering teams.

Ways to stand out

  • Architecture and design experience in SoC/GPU software display, power management, and optimization.
  • Prior experience with display technologies and SW/HW optimizations (VESA DP, eDP, HDMI).
  • Demonstrated working experience in system software, operating system internals, kernel modules, and device drivers.

Compensation & Other Details

  • Base salary ranges (dependent on level, location, and experience):
    • Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
    • Level 5: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD
  • You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
  • Applications accepted at least until July 29, 2025.
