Airbnb was born in 2007 in San Francisco and has grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals worldwide. The Host Platforms & Access team accelerates value delivery to Airbnb Hosts by identifying, extracting, and generalizing core functionality across host pricing, availability, and guidance systems. The team builds robust platforms and unified APIs to simplify development, eliminate fragmentation, clarify boundaries, and enable rapid innovation and integration across Host Pricing & Settings domains.
Responsibilities
- Build scalable platforms and APIs that enable faster delivery of product features within the Host Pricing & Settings organization.
- Work with product and design partners to explore problem spaces and devise solutions to customer problems.
- Consolidate logic across multiple systems to improve efficiency and maintainability.
- Identify areas for improvement and champion the adoption of best practices in product development, engineering, architecture, and testing.
- Follow data-driven approaches to find inefficiencies in the build/test/deploy pipeline.
- Act as a force multiplier by bridging pricing, availability, and guidance domains with unified platforms and APIs.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience with a BS/Masters or 4+ years with a PhD (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in design and architecture; experience testing and launching software products.
- Experience building and launching high-impact systems and operating high-scale, distributed systems across the full software life cycle.
- Previous experience with domain-driven design and context mapping.
- Strong ownership as a full-cycle developer: building, operating, and maintaining production systems.
- Solid production debugging skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
- End-to-end perspective connecting technical decisions to real user impact.
- Good judgment in making tradeoffs between short-term business needs and long-term technical quality.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within and across engineering teams.
Location & Work Authorization
- Remote — USA. This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $191,000 — $223,000 USD.
- The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
- Actual base pay is dependent on factors including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
