The Platform Product Group engineers build trusted, scalable, and compliant platform infrastructure with speed, efficiency, and quality. Teams include Product Foundations (Identity, Payment, Risk, Proofing & Regulatory, Finhub), Machine Learning, Customer Experience, and Infrastructure.

The Backend Platform team focuses on millisecond-level performance and infrastructure problems at Coinbase scale, working closely across the stack to build trust in Coinbase as a service and the crypto ecosystem.

This position within the Orchestration and Processing pod involves developing background jobs that are critical for asynchronous processing across almost every Coinbase service. The team builds modern, reliable, scalable, fault-tolerant, and performant jobs that other teams can easily use.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tools used to orchestrate background jobs at Coinbase.
• Support critical user journeys like trading, adding and withdrawing funds.
• Run Temporal and Coinbase's internal background jobs service.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with job processing frameworks.
• Writing high quality, well tested code to meet customer needs.

Nice to Haves

• Crypto-forward experience including interacting with Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, or blockchain-based services.
• Experience working with Temporal.
• Experience working with Cadence.
