Sentry is on a mission to help developers write better software faster by building performance and error monitoring tools used by companies like Disney, Microsoft, and Atlassian. The Mobile SDK team builds the next generation of tools for developers worldwide, processing over a billion events daily. This role focuses on owning and evolving the iOS SDK, leveraging Apple's latest technologies, and shipping features like Session Replay and next-generation performance monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Own the iOS SDK from core architecture through product experience.
- Design robust, high-quality APIs built to handle massive scale.
- Pioneer new features such as Session Replay and advanced performance monitoring.
- Work with modern Apple technologies (SwiftUI, modern concurrency, on-device AI / Foundation Models).
- Shape the vision for mobile at Sentry and help teams solve complex customer challenges.
- Contribute to and potentially maintain open-source projects related to the SDK.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on mobile platforms; ideally experience in SDK development and/or developer tooling.
- Deep experience developing for the iOS platform using Swift and Objective-C.
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with SwiftUI and Apple’s modern concurrency model (async/await, structured concurrency) is expected.
- Familiarity or interest in on-device AI / Foundation Models and applying advanced Apple APIs.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Must live in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco, Toronto, or Vienna areas (or already be located in those areas).
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of the app monitoring and observability space.
- Familiarity with low-level programming (C/C++).
- Track record of maintaining or contributing to open-source libraries.
- Experience with other mobile platforms or frameworks (Android with Kotlin/Java, React Native with JavaScript/TypeScript, Flutter with Dart).
Compensation
- The role references a legal minimum wage of EUR 60,844 gross per year (in accordance with the respective collective agreement IT-KV).
- Sentry states their starting point is EUR 95,000 gross per year and adjusts offers to the market situation.
