Details

NVIDIA is developing solutions in Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and Autonomous Vehicles. Join the Planning and Controls team to build algorithms for behavior and motion planning used on highways and urban roads and deploy them in simulation and on-road vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop reliable, redundant, and safety-critical algorithms for behavior and motion planning on highways and urban roads.
  • Work on problems in redundant actuation, degraded operation, and fail-safe control.
  • Architect, design, and implement new behavior-planning features based on product-driven requirements.
  • Test and validate functionalities in various scenarios in simulation environments and on-road vehicles.
  • Build autonomous systems with safety concepts that work across geographic regions, sensor setups, map availability, and diverse environmental conditions.
  • Collaborate with engineers from perception, mapping, vehicle control, and user experience domains.

Requirements

  • BS or higher in an engineering/technical field (Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years proven experience in software development.
  • Applied robotics experience (required).
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of C/C++.
  • Familiarity with Python.
  • Comfortable developing in Linux or another Unix-based system.
  • Ability to think analytically and tackle technical problems in compute-constrained systems.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred / Ways to Stand Out

  • 2+ years of experience in AV software development and deploying code in production.
  • PhD in a relevant field or related research experience.
  • Planning background (bonus).
  • Knowledge of CUDA (a plus).

Compensation & Other Details

  • Base salary range:
    • Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
    • Level 5: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD
