NVIDIA is expanding its autonomous vehicle solution and is seeking a creative, expert Systems Engineer to help develop and productize perception, mapping, and localization solutions for self-driving cars. You will collaborate with systems engineers, AI applied researchers, and software engineers worldwide to build world-class perception and mapping/localization systems while meeting NVIDIA and automotive standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop perception, mapping, and localization system requirements from use cases and customer requirements
  • Perform analysis to define performance requirements and allocate performance budgets (e.g., error budgets, modeling of scenarios)
  • Formulate test cases and critical metrics to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Develop analysis and test evaluation tools and dashboards
  • Work closely with hardware engineering, safety, developers, and product teams to ensure the right product is built
  • Improve processes for requirements decomposition, traceability, and verification
  • Establish relationships with relevant partners across the organization
  • Cultivate a systems engineering mentality within the organization

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years systems engineering experience on complex systems, including systems analysis, data analysis, and statistical analysis
  • Software development experience and strong coding skills
  • Expert knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and various product life-cycles
  • Proven understanding of failure analysis methodologies such as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive alignment across large organizations

Preferred / Ways to stand out

  • Experience with autonomous vehicles and/or machine learning and computer vision
  • Experience working with large datasets, data science, and analytics
  • Software engineering proficiency with SQL and Python or C++

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranges (determined by location, experience, and internal pay):
    • Level 4: 168,000 USD - 264,500 USD
    • Level 5: 200,000 USD - 322,000 USD
  • Eligible for equity and benefits
