Details
NVIDIA's Compiler team builds compiler technology for domains such as Deep Learning / Machine Learning, High Performance Computing, Graphics and Automotive. The Senior Technical Program Manager will be a key member of the Compiler Development team, responsible for delivering compilers and coordinating cross-functional efforts from concept to delivery. The role requires driving software development, process development/implementation, and working across global partners and matrixed teams.
Responsibilities
- Drive software programs and processes; lead multi-functional team members in a matrix organization to deliver projects on time.
- Lead projects using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Present project status to multi-functional teams and executive management.
- Work independently with minimal mentorship; take charge and influence outcomes.
- Collaborate with global partners across multiple time zones, geographies, and technical domains to define work, report status, and deliver projects.
- Influence other teams by creating an efficient and accountable development environment through process development and process improvement.
- Follow defined escalation processes when execution is not on track.
- Break down complex projects into manageable tasks and landmarks and distribute work across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree.
- 8+ years in a similar or related role.
- Validated software engineering background and technical skills; ability to investigate technical issues.
- Knowledge of operating systems, software development methodologies, and compilers (highly valued).
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
- Track record in program management fundamentals: risk management, tracking and monitoring, meeting facilitation, time management, and problem-solving.
- Passion for details, strong multitasking ability, and creative problem solving.
Preferred / Ways to stand out
- Experience with Open Source ecosystems, LLVM upstream contributions, and repository mirroring/unification.
- Knowledge of compilers, GPU, CUDA, and AI technologies.
- Experience crafting and implementing cross-team workflows and processes.
- Experience with project management tools such as JIRA and MS Project; implementing tool automation is a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Compensation & Other Information
- Base salary range: 168,000 USD - 258,750 USD (final base salary determined by location, experience, and internal pay equity).
- Eligible for equity and benefits.
