Role overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Validation Engineer to lead software validation activities in the Datacenter Systems Engineering team. You will work closely with solution architects, hardware system engineers, software, network & storage architects, validation engineers, OEM/ODMs, and AE teams to ensure product validation and test coverage are optimal. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, works well with different teams, is very comfortable in a lab environment and demonstrates passion towards product-level validation. Strong debug analysis fundamentals as well as automation and scripting experience are required. The role requires thriving in a fast paced environment with evolving product definitions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new and extend existing test strategies and execute them to guarantee the highest level of quality from both functional and performance perspectives.
  • Design and develop software that automates the verification of all Data Center scale infrastructure components, with heavy emphasis on automation tools written in Python.
  • Validate distributed storage systems (e.g., Lustre) on AI/HPC datacenter-scale infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams including application teams, hardware designers, networking, firmware, security, OEM/ODM partners to debug HW/SW product issues.
  • Debug, triage issues, perform root cause analysis, verify fixes, define new tests, and improve product test plans.
  • Analyze and root-cause issues down to the code level, lead defect fixing process and bug lifecycle management.

Requirements

  • MSEE/MSCE or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of validation experience.
  • Over 5 years of proven experience in Software Quality Engineering and storage system verification, including contributions to QA strategies and test documentation.
  • Proven expertise in test framework and automation script development; strong CI/CD experience using Python, SHELL, Ansible, Git & Jenkins.
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of system-level debugging and analysis tools; strong design, debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to participate in cross-functional quality initiatives and collaborate with development and product management teams to understand specifications.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants to improve coding efficiency and correctness.

Ways to stand out

  • Experience with GPU server architecture and storage validation in datacenter infrastructure.
  • Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Docker containers and Jenkins pipelines.
  • Certifications in storage (e.g., SNIA), HPC systems, or storage performance experience with mdtest or FIO tools.

Compensation & other information

  • Base salary range: 160,000 USD - 253,000 USD (final base salary determined by location, experience, and pay of employees in similar positions).
  • You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
