Are you someone who creates clarity where others see chaos? Can you distill technical complexity into a clear, scalable architecture? Then we’re looking for you.

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect Microsoft Azure for a leading Dutch bank. Someone who thinks strategically, provides direction, and builds bridges between technology and the organization.

Your role

As a solution architect, you will be part of the leadership triangle — together with the product owner and tech lead — guiding three squads responsible for shaping the Azure service landscape within the bank. This includes:

• Selecting and standardizing Azure services;
• Ensuring security and compliancy for these services;
• Embedding Azure services within the bank’s broader technology ecosystem;
• Keeping an eye on the FinOps aspects of using Azure services.

You bring structure to a flood of information and diverse interests — from technical standards to organizational frameworks. You don’t just think in solutions, but in principles, frameworks, and long-term vision.

The Azure capability is part of the area Engineering Platforms, where most of Rabobank’s multi-cloud infrastructure is offered is a structured and curated in a self-service manner towards the hundreds of DevOps squads. Besides Azure the technology landscape includes on-premises, AWS and various SaaS implementations.

You’ll collaborate closely with the other solution architects in the area, each with their own area of infrastructure expertise. Together, you form the backbone of the bank’s technology strategy.

What you bring

• Deep knowledge of and experience with Public Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) and cloud architecture;
• The ability to think conceptually and execute practically;
• The ability to translate the big picture into actionable steps and vice versa;
• Energy and joy in aligning with squads and engineers;
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments;
• Strong communication skills (in English) and a natural sense of collaboration;
• A structured mindset and the confidence to provide direction.
