The role focuses on translating high-level goals into detailed specifications for platforms and datacenter architectures, developing and validating reference cluster designs, and building on-prem, cloud-ready solutions that interoperate across cloud service providers to enable hybrid enterprise AI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the creation of scalable datacenter solutions for enterprise AI/ML systems
  • Craft detailed requirements for pioneering infrastructure patterns and datacenter-wide architectures
  • Create and validate cluster designs, optimizing them for enterprise facilities
  • Collaborate closely with experts in compute, software, and storage to drive innovation
  • Lead multi-disciplinary projects addressing high-level goals and complex challenges
  • Engineer on-premises cloud-native solutions that integrate with diverse cloud providers
  • Serve as a pivotal subject-matter expert for compute and hardware architecture
  • Demonstrate multidisciplinary understanding of Ethernet, InfiniBand, data center LAN, WAN, WiFi, and software-defined networks
  • Conduct TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) analysis to optimize datacenter efficiency and cost-effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 8-10+ years of hardware or infrastructure architecture experience
  • Expertise in architecting cluster designs for on-prem cloud-native platforms
  • Domain proficiency in advanced networking with emphasis on scalability, portability, security, and resilience
  • Ability to evaluate diverse networks and research their behavior under varied workloads
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture concepts and practices for high availability, scalability, resilience, performance, and security in the compute domain
  • Knowledge and application of networking patterns at chassis, rack, cluster, and data center levels when designing reference architectures
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Technical leadership in designing clusters with emphasis on networking setup, network management solutions, network-specific security, and remote access technologies
  • System-level thinking with a comprehensive grasp of network design and its impact on cluster reference designs

Ways to stand out

  • Relevant vendor networking certifications (Cisco, Arista Cloud Engineer (ACE), Juniper Networks)
  • Broader infrastructure expertise across compute, storage, platform sizing, and infrastructure cost reduction
  • Demonstrated TCO analysis skills focused on datacenter architectures

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range by level:
    • Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
    • Level 5: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD
