Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company used by more than 20M users worldwide to visualize and monitor metrics, logs, and traces. The Commercial Solutions Engineering team are customer-facing product experts who enable growth by educating customers, delivering demos and technical evaluations, and partnering closely with Sales. This role is an opportunity to join a high-growth team and act as a technical advocate between customers, Product Management, and Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own technical engagement with customers to qualify and help close opportunities.
• Deliver product and technical presentations, demos, and hands-on enablement.
• Perform technical evaluations and articulate the value proposition, vision, and strategy of Grafana products.
• Proactively communicate customer feedback and competitive insights to Product and Engineering teams.
• Drive product conversations based on customer needs and problems discovered during interactions.
• Contribute to documentation, blog posts, videos, knowledge base articles, and other enablement materials.
• Partner closely with Sales to support high-velocity opportunities through competitive knowledge and technical credibility.

Requirements

• Ideally located in: Chicago, Minneapolis, or St. Louis (United States). Role is remote-first.
• 1–3+ years of technical pre-sales (Solutions Engineering/SE) experience, ideally with Open Source technologies or in the Metrics/Monitoring space.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for collaboration with remote internal teams and global customers.
• Ability to deliver compelling product demos and technical presentations.
• Technical mindset with a desire to grow technically (candidates may be recent coding-bootcamp grads, have post-sales, or engineering experience).
• Startup mindset: comfortable with varied and complex duties, good judgment, collaboration, and leadership.
• Self-motivated, initiative-taking, creative, and customer-focused.

Compensation & Benefits

• United States OTE (On-Target Earnings) range: $198,000 - $237,000 USD (actual compensation varies by level, experience, and skillset).
• All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
