The Hardware Infrastructure team at Groq is responsible for architecting and supporting a world-class ASIC development and verification environment that optimizes the productivity of our hardware engineering team. This role focuses on building automation frameworks and tooling to scale and streamline the Groq silicon design flow and co-development between hardware and software teams.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and deploy an automation framework for the Groq silicon design flow.
  • Collaborate with the silicon design team to migrate the Groq hardware code base into forms that enable dynamic scaling and feature management.
  • Engage with software teams to define and deliver configuration-specific collateral that streamlines co-development.
  • Investigate novel ways to accelerate verification and physical design of generated designs, leveraging AI/ML approaches where possible.
  • Identify opportunities to more closely align hardware, software, and production flows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
  • Solid background in ASIC/FPGA hardware with 5+ years in design, verification, or EDA/CAD experience.
  • Industry-proven software design experience such as hardware modeling, applications development, or compiler development.
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, PERL, etc.).
  • Experience with verification and physical design methodologies and flows is an asset.
  • Previous experience with meta-programming approaches is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong team player.

  • Base salary range for this role in the United States: $205,530 to $292,600 (location-, skills-, and experience-dependent). Compensation for candidates outside the USA will be dependent on the local market.
