This role sits on MetaMask’s Growth team. The Growth team focuses on helping more people discover, try, and stick with MetaMask by designing user experiences that improve onboarding, activation, retention, and lifecycle. The team works across surfaces (Extension, Mobile, Portfolio) and partners closely with product, data, engineering, marketing, and research. The team values experimentation and learning from real users while maintaining strong craft and design quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of user experiences that drive adoption and retention across MetaMask products (Extension, Mobile, Portfolio).
• Explore problems from multiple angles and bring clarity to ambiguous challenges.
• Deliver designs that balance growth goals with usability and user trust (e.g., onboarding, activation surfaces, in-app nudges).
• Identify patterns across user journeys and optimize onboarding and activation flows.
• Give thoughtful feedback, partner closely with engineers, and mentor other designers to elevate design quality across the team.
• Shape design culture and process on a high-impact, fast-moving team.
• Work with product analytics and data teams to inform design decisions and experimentation.

Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years of experience designing digital products, with a strong portfolio of shipped work.
• Experience designing for user growth, including onboarding, activation, retention, or lifecycle optimization.
• A thoughtful approach to experimentation — knowing when to test, when to ship, and how to learn from results.
• Comfort working with product analytics and partnering with data teams to inform and validate design decisions.
• Ability to lead projects from zero to one as well as iterate on mature surfaces.
• Strength in systems thinking, interaction design, and content-aware UX.
• Collaborative experience partnering across engineering, product, marketing, research, and content.
• Experience mentoring or leveling up other designers on your team.
• Familiarity with Figma, design systems, and remote design workflows.

The salary range for US-based candidates (not including bonus, equity, or other benefits) is listed below and will be determined through the interview process depending on experience and skills.

$172,000—$257,000 USD
