The Platform Design and Research team at Coinbase builds secure, trusted, and easy-to-use cryptocurrency products for millions of users. This role contributes to Coinbase's mission by shaping product strategy and delivering scalable, delightful user experiences across web and mobile. The position is remote from the United States or Canada, with in-person participation required throughout the year (team and company offsites). Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex design initiatives that span multiple product areas, ensuring alignment with Coinbase’s strategic goals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Product, Engineering, Design Systems, and other XFN teams) to drive and shape product vision and strategy.
• Define and inform user experience for critical customer journeys so they are intuitive, scalable, and delightful across web and mobile.
• Partner with Design Systems teams to create scalable patterns and components that elevate quality and consistency across Coinbase products.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of user needs and business requirements and leverage insights to deliver innovative solutions with measurable outcomes.
• Participate in all project phases including planning, strategy, execution, QA, and retrospectives to ensure design excellence.
• Act as a thought leader and mentor, supporting and developing other designers and contributing to a culture of innovation and experimentation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience designing consumer-facing products for web and mobile, with a strong portfolio demonstrating UX thinking, visual design, and written communication.
• Proven ability to design at scale and create reusable patterns/components (systems thinking).
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder influence across Product, Engineering, and XFN teams.
• Experience driving design strategy and contributing to product roadmaps with measurable business and customer outcomes.
• Technical proficiency and fluency in Figma and prototyping tools; experience conducting user research studies and leveraging insights to inform design decisions.
• Low ego, high impact: collaborative, open-minded, and able to transform complexity into simplicity.

Nice to Haves

• Previous design experience in FinTech or crypto.
• Familiarity with the cryptocurrency ecosystem and Coinbase products.
• Platform design experience.

Pay Transparency

• Target annual salary range: $243,865 — $286,900 CAD. Full-time offers also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision).
