Senior Staff Product Designer - Platform

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. The Platform Design and Research team executes across the company to build secure, trusted, and easy-to-use cryptocurrency products for millions of users. This position is remote from the United States or Canada. While remote-first, in-person participation is required throughout the year for team and company-wide offsites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex design initiatives that span multiple product areas and align with Coinbase’s strategic goals
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and other teams to drive and shape product vision and strategy
• Define and inform the user experience for critical customer journeys, ensuring they are intuitive, scalable, and delightful
• Partner with Design Systems teams to create scalable patterns and components to elevate quality and consistency across Coinbase products
• Conduct in-depth analysis of user needs and business requirements to deliver innovative, measurable solutions
• Participate in all project phases: planning, strategy, execution, QA, and retrospectives
• Mentor other designers and act as a thought leader in product design
• Experiment with and apply emerging AI tools to accelerate prototyping, ideation, and design workflows

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience designing consumer-facing products for web and mobile
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UX thinking, visual design, and written communication
• Proven ability to design at scale and create reusable patterns and components (systems thinking)
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder-influence skills across Product, Engineering, and XFN teams
• Experience driving design strategy and contributing to product roadmaps with measurable outcomes
• Fluency in Figma and prototyping tools
• Experience conducting user research studies and leveraging insights to inform design
• Comfortable mentoring and elevating design quality across teams

Nice to Haves

• Previous design experience in FinTech or crypto
• Familiarity with the cryptocurrency ecosystem and Coinbase products
• Platform experience

Pay Transparency Notice

Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full-time offers also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).

Pay Range: $243,865—$286,900 USD
