Senior Staff Product Designer - Platform

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. The Platform Design and Research team is central to executing that vision, building secure, trusted, and easy-to-use cryptocurrency products for millions of users across web and mobile. This position is remote from the United States or Canada. While the role is remote-first, in-person participation is required throughout the year for team and company-wide offsites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex design initiatives that span multiple product areas and align with Coinbase's strategic goals
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and other XFN teams to shape product vision and strategy
• Define and inform user experience of critical customer journeys, ensuring they are intuitive, scalable, and delightful
• Partner with Design Systems teams to create scalable patterns and components that elevate quality and consistency across products
• Conduct in-depth analysis of user needs and business requirements to deliver innovative, outcome-driven solutions
• Participate in all project phases: planning, strategy, execution, QA, and retrospectives
• Mentor other designers and act as a thought leader in product design
• Experiment with and apply emerging AI tools to accelerate prototyping, ideation, and design workflows

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience designing consumer-facing products for web and mobile
• Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in UX thinking, visual design, and written communication
• Proven ability to design at scale and create reusable patterns and components (systems thinking)
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder-influence skills across Product, Engineering, and XFN teams
• Experience driving design strategy and contributing to product roadmaps with measurable business and customer outcomes
• Fluency in Figma and prototyping tools
• Experience conducting user research studies and leveraging insights to inform design decisions
• Low ego, collaborative mindset and ability to transform complexity into simplicity

Nice to Haves

• Previous design experience in FinTech or crypto
• Familiarity with the cryptocurrency ecosystem and Coinbase products
• Platform experience

Pay Transparency

Pay Range: $243,865—$286,900 USD per year. Full-time offers also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits.
