You will join Coinbase to build the next generation of crypto-forward products and features, solving large-scale, highly complex technical problems that bridge web-scale applications and blockchain technology. The role operates real-time applications with high frequency, low latency updates, and manages secure infrastructure running in the cloud. In-person participation is required throughout the year (team and company offsites are held multiple times annually).

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Head of Growth Engineering (Sr. Director of Eng), Engineering Managers, and Product Managers to improve incentives infrastructure, primitives and scale up spend/profitability with high reliability and confidence.
• Build foundational systems and primitives to drive growth at Coinbase.
• Solve unique, large-scale technical problems that combine web-scale application constraints with blockchain technology.
• Operate and improve real-time, high-frequency, low-latency systems and secure cloud infrastructure.
• Drive quality and performance across complex systems at scale; set and move metrics and SLOs that reflect product quality.
• Drive multi-quarter roadmaps with complex dependencies within and outside the Growth team.
• Provide horizontal technical leadership across a larger team or multiple small teams.

Nice to have

• Strong cross-functional partnership skills (this role spans incentives experience and infrastructure pods and may support all of Growth).
• Experience in consumer or growth-focused engineering.
• Experience working with machine learning directly or via APIs (understand online/offline model evaluation techniques and opportunities for ML to impact core user experience).

Pay Range

• $253,895—$298,700 USD (target annual salary; full-time offers also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits).
