Role summary

We’re looking to hire Senior Staff Software Engineers to join our Platform Product Group. The Platform Product Group’s mission is to build a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform to maximize velocity, efficiency and quality. They build the foundations that can be used by multiple products and teams at Coinbase so that users can have a consistent and high-quality experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop distributed systems
• Provide technical structure to teams and work closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps
• Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables with technical expertise
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards
• Design and implement foundational infrastructure components used by every engineering team in production (examples cited: dynamic configuration, secrets storage, container orchestration)
• Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
• Passion for building an open financial system and familiarity / interest in crypto and blockchain technologies

Nice to haves

• Experience during rapid company growth (e.g., scaling from 10 to 100s of engineers)
• Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices
• Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, Postgres
• Experience building financial, high-reliability, or security-focused systems

Compensation

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Pay Range: $253,895 — $298,700 USD
