Senior Staff Software Engineer, Hotels

Airbnb Hotels (including HotelTonight) is a fast-moving, entrepreneurial team focused on building simple, intuitive hotel booking experiences that drive incremental bookings for hotel partners.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive long-term technical strategy and architecture for Hotels products in collaboration with other senior leaders.
• Architect, build, and launch reliable, performant, and scalable solutions that support hotel discovery and booking at scale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Product Managers, Experience Designers, Data Science, Engineers) to align on technical vision and product requirements.
• Provide hands-on development, including system design and code reviews.
• Influence team roadmaps, identify areas for improvement, and drive engineering best practices.
• Lead and mentor engineers across teams, supporting career growth and fostering technical quality from design through production operations.

Requirements

• 12+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment.
• Experience building, leading, and architecting full-stack products and systems at enterprise scale with broad impact.
• Demonstrated technical leadership with hands-on experience leading project teams and setting technical direction and strategy.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with both technical and non-technical partners; ability to influence Product, Design, and business stakeholders.
• Extensive experience with Java, Python, and/or other programming languages.
• Experience mentoring and developing individual contributors.

Location & Work Model

• Remote - USA (US Remote Eligible). The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with your manager.
• Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (some states are excluded).

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay range: $244,000 — $305,000 USD.
• This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
