The DevX team’s mission is to make Coinbase the best place to build in crypto by improving developer productivity through a suite of tools, platforms and metrics-driven frameworks. The team focuses on developer workflows for onchain and offchain developers and is transforming those workflows with AI to scale productivity.

The role is remote-first but not fully remote-only — in-person participation is required throughout the year for team and company offsites and other events. Coinbase notes that full-time offers include target bonus, target equity and benefits (medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Responsibilities

• Identify scoped opportunities across Coinbase to improve developer productivity and define & drive outcomes.
• Act as a thought leader influencing stakeholders across many organizations that build Coinbase products or manage financial operations.
• Participate in shaping the strategy and execution path for the DevX organization.
• Make high-quality technical contributions that drive the multi-year roadmap for DevX.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables using technical expertise.
• Mentor and train team members on design techniques and coding standards.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet the needs of internal customers.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in backend software engineering using Golang (Go) or similar languages.
• Proven track record of delivering impactful solutions that power software development.
• Experience designing, building, scaling and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency production services.
• Strong technical knowledge of building distributed systems that operate at massive scale.
• Experience with client development and driving performance improvements.
• Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
• Strong operational rigor with a focus on high-quality, reliable services.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Relentless drive to set and achieve ambitious goals and a passion for building an open financial system.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $253,895 — $298,700 USD (target annual salary; full-time offers also include target bonus, target equity and benefits).
