Details

NVIDIA is seeking a Data Center System Security Test Engineer to drive quality and reliability across next-generation Data Center Systems. The role focuses on security testing, test architecture, automation, and validation for AI, HPC, and cloud-scale systems. The engineer will work across firmware, software, and hardware layers to ensure robust, production-ready security features and will partner with multiple engineering teams to influence design for testability and automation readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Define end-to-end system-level security test strategy and validation plans aligned with customer use cases.
  • Architect scalable, modular test infrastructure and automation harnesses that support security feature testing across multiple platforms in parallel.
  • Implement and execute automated platform-level security test plans validating core security features and functionality.
  • Lead complex root cause analysis and debugging across firmware, software, and hardware layers; develop and document debug methodologies and tools.
  • Engage cross-functional engineering teams (firmware, hardware architects, silicon validation, platform QA, system software) to ensure comprehensive security test coverage and influence early design decisions.
  • Define and own security quality KPIs (e.g., code coverage, bug escape rate, validation completeness); establish dashboards and reporting for data-driven decisions.
  • Integrate and enhance test automation pipelines and continuous testing into nightly and pre-merge workflows to accelerate release qualification.
  • Validate real-world use cases, customer configurations, and production scenarios; contribute to release gates and sign-off criteria.
  • Mentor and lead peers; adopt emerging technologies and AI-powered tools to accelerate test development, automation, and debug workflows.

Requirements

  • B.S./M.S./Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software/firmware security testing, with a focus on embedded or low-level systems.
  • Strong knowledge of system architecture, boot processes, SoCs, I2C/SPI/PCIe interfaces, and embedded controllers.
  • Proven experience designing test frameworks and infrastructure using Python, C/C++ or similar languages.
  • Hands-on experience with server platforms and system debugging.
  • Experience with lab automation, HW-in-the-loop testing, and CI/CD pipelines (examples: Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; experience working in globally distributed teams is a plus.

Ways to Stand Out

  • Experience with NVIDIA platforms (e.g., DGX, HGX, Grace Blackwell systems).
  • Experience with security validation focused on features like Attestation, Secure Boot/Update, and Recovery.
  • Prior experience with OpenBMC test automation or as a test architect/technical lead for large-scale firmware or embedded validation programs.
  • Contributions to open-source testing tools or frameworks and strong knowledge of cloud-scale validation, infrastructure automation, or virtualization.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-powered tools and copilots to accelerate test development, identify test gaps, automation, and failure analysis.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Base salary ranges (location & level dependent):
    • Level 3: 148,000 USD - 235,750 USD
    • Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
  • Eligible for equity and company benefits.
  • Applications accepted at least until August 19, 2025.
