Details

NVIDIA is searching for an outstanding senior system software engineer to join the automotive display driver team and help produce next-generation products. The role focuses on developing GPU/display kernel-mode drivers and embedded firmware for NVIDIA GPUs and Tegra SoCs. You will collaborate with experts across system software and hardware domains and work on platforms that target automotive display solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Define, design, develop, test and maintain GPU/Display kernel-mode drivers and embedded firmware.
  • Develop features for NVIDIA GPUs and Tegra SoCs; craft, unit test, document and maintain software components.
  • Work across multiple operating systems (Linux, Android, QNX) and adapt drivers/features accordingly.
  • Drive projects and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to understand requirements and align software direction.

Requirements

  • BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience developing system software and kernel-mode drivers on one or more of Linux, QNX or Android.
  • Strong C programming skills with proven ability to develop multi-threaded, complex kernel-mode drivers.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and OS fundamentals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with graphics device drivers is a distinguisher.

Ways to Stand Out

  • Experience working in Linux DRM-KMS (Kernel Mode Setting) subsystem.
  • Conceptual understanding of user-space compositors such as Android HWC, Wayland compositor, QNX Screen.
  • Background in display color management and HDR.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality standards: ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 21434.

Compensation & Benefits

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.

  • Level 4 base salary range: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
  • Level 5 base salary range: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD
