NVIDIA is seeking an outstanding Senior System Software Technical Lead to join the GPU System Performance and Power Management team. This team coordinates end-to-end power management solutions from concept to mass production. The role focuses on the design, architecture, and implementation of algorithms that define product efficiency and drives strategy and execution for next-generation power, performance, and thermal management technologies. The role requires close collaboration with architecture, hardware, modeling, and marketing leaders.
Responsibilities
- Lead deep technical dives into performance, power, and thermal management software, driving innovation for upcoming product roadmaps.
- Define and strategize the scope of software work for NVIDIA's next-generation Client, Datacenter, and GeForce products.
- Collaborate with technical leaders across the organization to align on dependencies, track progress, and ensure critical product milestones are met.
- Orchestrate pre-silicon and post-silicon bring-up, including feature enablement, quality assurance, and automated testing to guarantee successful characterization and qualification.
- Develop strategies with application engineering and marketing teams to produce educational materials that help partners and end-users realize product capabilities.
Requirements
- BS or higher degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of proven experience in system software or a related field.
- Expert programming skills in C.
- Solid foundation in operating system internals and device drivers.
- Experience with real-time embedded systems.
- Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
- In-depth knowledge of low-level power management fundamentals, including Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS), hardware/software-based closed-loop controllers, and power-saving features such as Power Gating (PG) and Clock Gating (CG).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both hardware engineers and software engineers to craft and implement new features and solutions.
Preferred / Ways to Stand Out
- Proven architectural and design experience in SoC or GPU software power management and optimization.
- Prior experience leading chip bring-up activities.
- Extensive hands-on experience developing CPU and GPU DVFS, power, and thermal controllers to optimize system-level and platform solutions.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary ranges provided by location and level:
- Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
- Level 5: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD
