The Strategic Programs team leads large-scale, cross-functional product development efforts to accelerate and improve product execution and to staff the highest and most critical company priorities across Coinbase. You will support scalability and reliability efforts to ensure the platform stays ahead of emerging traffic patterns and is able to sustain Critical User Journey performance in alignment with customer demand.
Coinbase is remote-first but not remote-only; in-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually and attendance is expected and supported.
Responsibilities
- Drive the strategy and execution of large-scale infrastructure initiatives (scaling, security, automation) across cloud, networking, storage, and compute platforms, driving highly technical and cross-functional outcomes
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, security, and compliance teams to design and implement robust, scalable infrastructure strategies
- Support and align SRE, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams in building and deploying highly available, fault-tolerant systems that meet performance and reliability goals
- Define goals, establish alignment, and push execution across multiple stakeholders and priorities
- Own roadmap delivery, including adoption metrics and success criteria co-developed with stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (engineering, data science, product, compliance, legal, CX, etc.) to translate business requirements into actionable objectives
- Oversee program documentation—requirements, milestones, prioritization, and communication artifacts
- Develop and manage functional specifications, release plans, and program roadmaps
- Continuously monitor progress, proactively identify risks/issues, and drive timely resolution through clear, succinct communication and collaboration
Requirements
- 7+ years of technical program management experience in technology-first environments, with direct engagement in infrastructure programs
- Background in software engineering or technical roles, providing the depth to partner effectively with engineering teams and evaluate technical trade-offs
- Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and distill incomplete or conflicting inputs into actionable plans
- Skilled communicator with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders to achieve alignment
- Data-driven decision maker, leveraging metrics and analysis to guide prioritization and recommendations
- Proven track record delivering global, cross-functional programs at scale
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority programs simultaneously while ensuring quality and timeliness

- Program or project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, CSM)
- Prior exposure to cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies, with a demonstrated passion for the space
- Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace, JIRA, Looker, and SQL

Pay Transparency
- Target annual salary range: $193,970—$228,200 CAD
