NVIDIA is seeking a passionate and experienced engineer for its video IP team to develop innovative AI algorithms in the field of video compression and processing. You will work on DL/ML-based algorithms and the next generation of encoder and decoder hardware algorithm/architecture. This role focuses on prototyping ground-up algorithms and delivering impactful solutions that combine deep learning research with video codec and hardware considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop deep learning networks for video compression and video pre/post processing.
  • Develop video codec algorithms and hardware architecture for encoders and decoders.
  • Model multimedia hardware to support algorithm and architecture development.
  • Prototype DL-based algorithms and integrate them with codec and hardware requirements.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 6+ years of industry experience in deep learning and/or video compression.
  • Hands-on experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow (must have).
  • Hands-on experience with video codecs such as H.264 (AVC), H.265 (HEVC), and AV1 (must have).
  • Excellent C++ and Python programming skills.
  • Good communication skills.

Ways to Stand Out

  • Prior experience delivering AI features successfully in products.
  • Research or development experience related to video compression standards (H.264/HEVC/AV1).
  • Experience with GPU optimization frameworks such as TensorRT or cuDNN.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranges (by level):
    • Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
    • Level 5: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD
