We are looking for an experienced engineer to join NVIDIA's video IP team to develop innovative AI algorithms in the field of video compression and processing. You will work on deep learning / ML-based algorithms and next-generation encoder and decoder hardware algorithms and architecture. The role involves prototyping algorithms from the ground up with an emphasis on delivering impactful, product-ready solutions.
Responsibilities
- Research and develop deep learning networks for video compression and video pre/post processing.
- Develop video codec algorithms and hardware architecture for encoders and decoders.
- Model multimedia hardware and collaborate on hardware-software co-design.
- Prototype and evaluate DL/ML algorithms for integration into products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition research to product features.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- At least 6+ years of industry experience in deep learning and/or video compression.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow (must have).
- Hands-on experience with video codecs such as H.264 (AVC), H.265 (HEVC), and AV1 (must have).
- Excellent C/C++ and Python programming skills.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred / Ways to stand out
- Prior experience delivering AI features successfully in products.
- Research or development experience related to video compression standards (H.264/HEVC/AV1).
- Experience with GPU optimization frameworks such as TensorRT or cuDNN.
Compensation and Logistics
- Base salary range (by level):
- Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
- Level 5: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD
- You will also be eligible for equity and benefits (see NVIDIA benefits).
